Dryer Operator - Lost Creek ISR Facility
Position Summary
Responsible for plant dryer operations and uranium recovery from an in situ uranium processing plant. This is a day-time shift work position.
Essential Functions

- Operate a filter press and load yellowcake dryers.
- Monitor yellowcake dryer performance.
- Package yellowcake.
- Operate a fork lift to move drums and load trucks.
- Perform maintenance on the filter press and dryers as needed.
- Collect samples from various processes. Occasionally perform basic laboratory functions and use results
- in the operation of the facility.
- Maintain operations records and logbooks.
- Respond to operating alarms.
- Inspect operations work areas and complete inspection paperwork.
- Predict maintenance issues and complete minor repairs and piping adjustments as necessary.
- Work with other facility crews to ensure a productive and safe work environment.
- Understand and follow regulations and procedures.
- Regular attendance.
- Monitoring and operating a uranium recovery processing plant.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working with chemicals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, management, and department head staff and various agency personnel.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.

Schedule
This is a day shift operating position, working 12 hours on for four days, then four days off (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., or as may be adjusted for shift-change handover)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be mobile (walking, standing); to use hands for various tasks; to see and hear adequately to perform all essential functions and maintain a safe work environment.
The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to routine industrial hazards which may include fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock.
The employee must be able to wear a full-face respirator and safety gear for extended periods in a hot environment. There is the potential that the employee will be exposed to low-level radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
