Wayne Heili, B.Sc., President, CEO & Director, served as Ur-Energy’s Vice President of Mining and Engineering since 2007. His career spans more than 20 years providing engineering, construction, operations and technical support in the uranium mining industry. He spent 16 years in various operations level positions with Total Minerals and Cogema Mining at their properties in Wyoming and Texas. He was Operations Manager of Cogema’s Wyoming in-situ recovery projects from 1998 to 2004. Since then, Mr. Heili acted as a consultant for such companies as High Plains Uranium, Energy Metals and Behre Dolbear. His experience includes conventional and ISR uranium processing facility operations. Mr. Heili received a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, with an emphasis in mineral processing.

John Cash, M.Sc., Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Exploration and Geology, served as Ur-Energy’s EHS and Regulatory Affairs Manager from 2007 to 2010 and as Director of Regulatory Affairs since 2010. John previously worked for Crow Butte Resources, Inc. a subsidiary of Cameco, from 2002 to 2007. He served as their Senior Environmental/Safety Superintendent in 2002; Safety Director/Wellfield Supervisor in 2003; and finally, Operations Superintendent 2004 to 2007. John is a Fellow of the World Nuclear University Summer Institute, Summer 2005. He has a M.Sc. Geology and Geophysics from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Penne Goplerud, J.D., General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, served as Ur-Energy’s Associate General Counsel since 2007. She came to the Company in 2007 from private practice and brings more than 15 years of complex commercial litigation experience, including several years practicing in natural resources and mining litigation. Penne's experience with the mining industry began in the early 1990s with the successful defense of a billion-dollar mining litigation in federal district court in Nevada, in which she was among lead litigation counsel. More recently, she became involved with more transactional work, with a natural resources practice in Colorado and internationally. In and out of the legal field, Penne has owned and operated businesses herself for a total of nearly ten years. Penne received her J.D with Distinction from the University of Iowa.
Steve Hatten, B.Sc., Vice President of Operations, served as Ur-Energy’s Manager of Mining and Engineering from 2007 to 2010 and as Director of Operations since 2010. Steve has over 20 years experience with a strong background in ISR (in-situ recovery) uranium operations as a project manager and in well field and production facility design and engineering. Steve previously worked for Power Resources, Inc., High Country Fabrication, Inc. and Rio Algom Mining Corporation. He has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Roger Smith, CPA, MBA, CFO and CAO, has more than 25 years of mining and manufacturing experience including finance, accounting, IT, ERP and system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, audit and tax, and public and private reporting in international environments. He served as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Rio Tinto Minerals, a subsidiary of Rio Tinto PLC. Mr. Smith has also held such positions as Vice President Finance, Corporate Controller, Accounting Manager and Internal Auditor with other mining companies such as Vista Gold, Westmont Gold, and Homestake Mining. Mr. Smith has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado.
